Portrush's D Class Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) - "Ken and Margaret". The D Class Lifeboat was the first RNLI inflatable, introduced in 1963. The D Class is ideal for rescues close to shore where larger lifeboats cannot operate. The D Class can be righted manually by the crew after a capsize. Identifying features include a single 40hp outboard engine, operational number on side tube and the distinctive orange colour.
